Business Intelligence systems should allow the retailers team to understand key data in a manner that allows that team member to make good decisions promptly and accurately. Whilst in an ideal world other parts of a retailer’s systems investment are automating many decisions – ultimately the human factor becomes a key to advancing many opportunities or defending threats. A modern BI system AND the appropriate processes allow these decisions to be made accurately – in a timely manner. If the automated systems are not in place – these decision processes become more critical.
