Point of Sale systems are the front end of the retail transaction. The market has numerous choices these days with most systems having a degree of competency within specific sectors. However, the nuances of the various POS options are often misunderstood by the retail community leading to the purchase of system that limit the retailer. Within the Omni-Channel world it is now critical that the POS is appropriately linked to the Loyalty, CRM and on-line systems. Consumers do not differentiate between in-store and on-line. The POS relationship within this cycle is critical.
